Halberstadt Financial Consultants, Inc. is an independent financial planning firm and investment advisor registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The Firm is engaged in investment planning and consulting, estate and retirement planning, tax planning, education funding, and other forms of financial planning. The Firm was established in 1969, and has been located in Princeton, New Jersey since 1986.

David Walter, President and Chief Investment Officer
David Walter is President and Chief Investment Officer of Halberstadt Financial Consultants, Inc. He formulates investment strategy, supervises the firm's investment research and portfolio analysis and publishes the firm's blog commenting on the economy, investing and the current financial climate. Dave brings over 30 years of financial experience emphasizing objective, practical advice and professional expertise.
Prior to joining HFC, Dave served as Treasurer and CFO of the Carnegie Foundation in Princeton, NJ for 9 years where he was responsible for oversight of the Foundation’s investment portfolio and advising the Board of Trustees and Foundation President on asset allocation and investment policy development. Dave is a graduate of the University of Maryland and is both a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Financial Planner professional. Earlier, Dave was in private practice as a CPA and supervisory auditor with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell and Co., a predecessor to KPMG Peat Marwick serving the needs of high net worth individuals and nonprofit organizations.
Martha Ferrari, Vice President
Martha Ferrari is Vice President of Financial Planning at Halberstadt Financial Consultants, Inc., Princeton, New Jersey. She has over 20 years experience assisting individuals, families, business owners, executives and retirees with investment, tax, retirement and other financial planning matters. Martha is experienced in providing tax-aware financial and planning advice to help clients work toward financial goals. This includes retirement funding, investing and distribution planning for pre- and post retirees. Martha has presented seminars at conferences and meetings on topics in the tax and financial planning field and makes herself available to companies and organizations to talk to individuals, employees and members about topics pertinent to their interests.
Martha is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Financial Planner professional and holds an MBA from Pace University, New York. Before joining Halberstadt Financial Consultants she was in private practice for 12 years providing tax preparation, tax planning and financial planning services. Previously, Martha worked for a Princeton, New Jersey CPA firm that served high net worth individuals and families. She began her career as an auditor at Coopers & Lybrand, one of the predecessors to Pricewaterhouse Coopers.
